Hiya Michael - welcome to
planDisney!
I'm so glad you stopped by with a question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan magical Walt Disney World Resort vacations!
I'm so happy to hEAR that you're planning a trip for later this summer.
The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration is ready for you to enjoy - get ready for exciting new attractions, entertainment, food, and a lot more!
Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers is the best place in the galaxy for aspiring Jedis to assemble their very own lightsaber. It gets quite busy at the Workshop, and for that reason, reservations are highly recommended. I'd venture to say that a reservation is almost always required. There can sometimes be a small number of same-day reservations or walk-up availability, but this is rare. If you aren't able to secure a reservation, I would head over to
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge first thing in the morning to ask a Cast Member at Savi's about your options for that day.
Reservations for Savi's Workshop are available starting 60 days in advance and do tend to go quickly as registered Guests of
Disney Resorts Collection hotels can book out up to 10 days of their stay at the 60-day mark. While I haven't heard of there being any issues with the system at present, you should continue to try and make a reservation just in case. You may also want to
call and speak to a Cast Member to see if you can get more information on any remaining availability during your visit.
In my experience, I do often see reservation availability start to pop up closer to my trip. I think other Guests are taking one last look at their plans and making necessary changes, especially if they planned their trip far in advance. Whenever someone else cancels their Savi's reservation, it will then be made available for other Guests like you. Keep checking!
I hope this information is helpful, though I know it is disappointing that I don't have any Jedi mind tricks for you to employ.
