Can you invite guests when staying at a resort? Will they have access to the pool with you?

Welcome to planDisney, Lyndsay! Thanks for sharing your question with us.

There’s a lot to love about Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Their proximity to the theme parks, their fun themes and beautiful decor, and the great food options come to mind, but the pools might be what my family loves about the Disney Resort Hotels the most. So let's jump right in and get you the information you're looking for.

Good news! I’m happy to report that you are allowed to have day guests visit you at your hotel. Just notify the Cast Members at the front desk that you plan to have guests so security can let them through at the hotel’s main gate. Security will ask for your name and room number, and they may even want your reservation number, so be sure your guests have that info when they visit.

Now the less good news. Day guests are not permitted to use Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools. Unfortunately. The pools are reserved for guests of the hotel, and you need a hotel key card or MagicBand to access the pool area. It’s also worth remembering that while you're unlikely to have issues inviting guests to your resort most of the time, security may turn away day guests arriving by car if the hotel is busy and parking is limited.

I hope this information is useful, Lyndsay. Don’t hesitate to come back to planDisney if you have more vacation planning questions. We’re always happy to help!

    Magical travels!
