Hello there Maria, and welcome back to planDisney!
It's always so great to connect with Kiwi friends whenever they make the voyage across the Pacific to visit us here at
Walt Disney World Resort, and it's been so great to see your fantastic questions here for our team over the past few years! In fact, as one of our International experts on the Panel who's been to all of the
Disney Parks destinations around the world, I know how first-hand how important it can be to make sure that you can stay connected with your phone or device when you're there. We recently hosted a number of international friends and family who flew in for our
Disney Wedding and they also had similar questions upon their arrival, so I went straight to the Cast Members and folks working at these locations to find out what I could from their responses:
- I went over to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to inquire with the Cast Members at Trader Sam's Grog Grotto and they said that though some international guests have been able to receive text messages informing them when they can return, they cannot guarantee this and advise that you let the host or hostess welcoming you know whether you have an international number and may not be able to receive incoming messages. (They have been providing guests with a return time or advising them to check back frequently at regular intervals to see where they are on their list.)
During their visit, many of our friends and family opted to use a variety of methods including eSIMS, virtual phone numbers and even ordered prepaid SIM cards to their accommodations so these could be options for you to look into as an alternative to paying for any roaming fees while you're over here! In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you back here at planDisney for any other tips or tricks ahead of your upcoming stay!
Wishing you all the best on your quest to stay connected here at Walt Disney World Resort!
