I am excited to hear you’ll be returning for another runDisney race weekend soon! I completed the Dopey Challenge in 2022 and I’m hoping I get another chance to participate in the
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend again in the future.
In previous years, internal bus transportation was available for guests staying at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground on race mornings. However, it is best to confirm once you arrive for your upcoming stay. Typically, in the days leading up to the race weekends, signs will be posted in the main lobby of your resort with transportation options available to help participants get to and from the
runDisney Health & Fitness Expo and race events. Using last year as an example, the sign at Fort Wilderness stated that buses would be picking up and dropping off participants at the Outpost Bus Stop.
If you’d like a little extra reassurance, you could
call the Resort and request a location close to the Outpost Bus Stop. Or, if you have your own vehicle (or have
rented a golf cart from the Resort), you could drive and park near the Outpost Bus Stop. Then, after the race you won’t need to wait on an internal bus take you back to your cabin or campsite. I know I can’t wait to get in a shower and spend some time off my feet after I finish a race!
If you haven’t already, check out the
Digital Expo & Event Guide to confirm what time bus transportation to the start line will begin on race mornings. Keep in mind, resort transportation start times vary for each race event, and the time listed refers to the time buses will leave the Outpost Bus Stop, not the internal bus system.
