I am interested in visiting next year for my 61st birthday. This would be my first time coming to Disney any suggestions on how to have a epic birthday for someone my age ? P.s. I love Disney. Thank you

Hello Rose! I'm so excited you stopped by planDisney with your question!

I simply cannot think of a better way to celebrate your birthday than your very first trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth! If you're looking to be sprinkled with pixie dust, surrounded by magic, and toasted to what is sure to be an amazing 61st year, Walt Disney World Resort is definitely where you want to be.

Before we even get into some exciting ways to celebrate I want you to know that as soon as you arrive at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel you should stop by the Front Desk for a "Happy Birthday" button! Wearing this will get you more "Happy Birthday" shoutouts than ever before and it's just fun to have the world know you're there celebrating.

There are so many ways to make this birthday the best one ever, and I think you'll already be doing that just by being at the Resort.  Whether you take days to visit all four Theme Parks, or spend every afternoon at the Resort pools, doing what you love most will make this trip memorable.

If you're looking for something EXTRA special, I have a few ideas! First, take a look at the Enchanting Extras Collection on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Here, you might see an idea you love such as Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparking Dessert Cruise.  Here, you'll spend time on the Seven Seas Lagoon sailing in a ferryboat and munching on delicious treats while fireworks from Magic Kingdom Park burst overhead.

You may also be interested in seeing a performance of Drawn to Life Presented by Cirque du Soleil & Disney at Disney Springs.  I've seen this spectacular show twice now and loved every second of each performance. I won't spoil it for you but there is one part of the show that is so moving that it literally had me and my other panelist friends in tears. After the show, try one of the many dining locations in the shopping, dining, and entertainment district of Disney Springs.  You'll find delectable Southern fare at Chef Art Smith's Homecomin' or you can grab a birthday cake and celebratory glass of champagne right at Amorette's Patisserie!

If you would rather relax the day away you can always stop by The Grand Floridian Spa for a Warm Stone Massage or a Botanical Purifying Body Treatment.  Nobody could refuse to be pampered in such a picture-perfect location!

However you choose to celebrate I hope you have a wonderful birthday and an even better first visit to Walt Disney World Resort.  If you have any more planning questions, you know where to find us!

Meet the Panelist: Ashley, Massachusetts

Hi All, I'm Ashley! From the very beginning Walt Disney World Resort has always been a part of my life. As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
