Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Joseph!
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney! How exciting that you are thinking of using your Disney Vacation Club Points to travel to the great wide somewhere. As a Member for the last 22 years, our family has taken advantage of the flexibility of
Disney Vacation Club to enjoy ski vacations in Colorado, beach vacations in California, and a European adventure to Vienna, Austria, all using our Vacation Points. It has added so much value to our Membership.
Joseph, Disney Vacation Club partners with
Interval International for the exchange program. To see the options available to you, visit the Disney Vacation Club website and scroll to the "Destinations" tab. Under "Worldwide Exchange," select
"Hotel Exchange." You will see a blue box and in small blue print, click where it says "search or book now" to go to the Interval International page.
From here, click on the "Resort Directory" on the right and you can narrow in on New York by going to the "USA - Middle Atlantic" region. You will see a few areas within New York you can explore, and depending on where you are looking, select that general area to see a list of hotels. Once you decide on a hotel, click on that and click on the blue button that says "Exchange" and enter your dates to begin an availability search.
You will then be able to check how many Reservation Points it will cost you on your check in date for that stay. Now, Joseph, the Interval International site does allow you to move your Vacation Points into Reservation Points on their site yourself so that you can make this booking. But, as this is a final transaction, I always recommend calling
Disney Vacation Club Member Services if you have any questions about this step as it can't be reversed. Additionally, if you have trouble making the booking, you can call Member Services and they will assist you with making the booking.
I hope this helps you, Joseph. If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you. After all, you've got a friend in me.
Magically Yours,
Keri
