I am interested in taking my 10-year old daughter on our first Disney Cruise but wonder how friendly the cruises are to single parents; is it common for one parent to travel or is it awkward at dining and some of the adult events?

    Hi, Audria!

Congratulations on your first cruise...you couldn't have picked a better one than aboard Disney Cruise Line (DCL) ! I think that DCL is the perfect choice for single parents -- there's much to do with your daughter including nightly dining, entertainment and events. Plus, she can enjoy the Oceaneer's Club or Oceaneer's Lab while you enjoy adults-only areas such as the spa, quiet cove pool, night clubs or lounges and even singles events on the ship.

I always tell my friends and family that sailing with Disney is the best of both worlds.  It's a relaxing yet exciting vacation together and separately as a family -- whether you are a large brood like mine or a single-parent family. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
