I am interested in starting pin collecting. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions of how to get started. We are going to Disney in February.

    Hi Christine!

Pin collecting and trading is a lot of fun!  You can buy a lanyard and individual pins at Walt Disney World or you can buy a "package" containing several pins and a lanyard (it's already pre-packaged so you can't select individual pins).  That's it!  Then you can just go about trading.  It's very easy to trade with Disney Cast Members.  In fact, I think it's a great activity for children to get them use to interacting with adults.  You can also trade with other guests.  Just be sure to ask if you can look at somebody's pins and to ask if they are interested in trading; some guests, like me, just like collecting pins and don't really like trading.

By the way, be sure to buy only Disney pins and not just pins in general.  The Disney Cast Members will only trade for a Disney pin.  So for example, a pin from the Olympics won't work in general!

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
