Hi there, David!
It seems you have heard about the
new park reservation system announced by the Disneyland Resort. I’m glad you are learning about the expected procedures for enjoying a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth as the Disneyland Resort progresses through its
phased reopening. At this time, it’s really easy to visit
Downtown Disney District. Simply
bring a mask and show up! Reservations will not be required for guests visiting only Downtown Disney District, although they will be required for visiting
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park during their initial reopening period.
Tony’s Tip: For a limited time during the
reopening of Downtown Disney District, self parking is free! Simply arrive at the Simba parking lot located on Disneyland Drive. The entrance is immediately to the south of
Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. Be sure to arrive early, especially on popular days. To facilitate appropriate social distancing at Downtown Disney District, admission to the Simba lot may be temporarily suspended to allow for current Guests to complete their visit before allowing more Guests to take their place. Guests with confirmed
dining reservations at a Downtown Disney District restaurant will still be granted priority access to the Simba parking lot to enjoy their dining experience.
You are going to love spending some time visiting the Downtown Disney District. I have enjoyed simply listening to the themed atmosphere music playing throughout the area. It has also been such a pleasure to
shop and
dine in that magical place. My wife and I have decided that our favorite thing to do in the Downtown Disney District is to get a cup of gourmet ice cream from
Salt & Straw and take a seat and simply enjoy spending time together in The Happiest Place on Earth!
Thanks for bringing us your questions, David. If you have any more questions about visiting the Disneyland Resort, I hope you will come to visit us again here at planDisney.
