Hi Stephanie!
Mmm ...
Italian food at Walt Disney World.
You'll be pleased to know that there are now 6 Italian dining choices around the Walt Disney World property.
Il Mulino New York Trattoria, in the Walt Disney World Swan Resort, is not part of the Disney Dining Plan. It's an upscale, romantic setting, serving traditional dishes from the Abruzzi region of Italy.
There are 5 Italian dining choices within the
Disney Dining Plan. Based on personal experience, here is how I'd rank them.
Via Napoli in Epcot is my first choice. I've thoroughly enjoyed the food & atmosphere here twice. It's a perfect, casual family meal.
My next choice is Portobello at Downtown Disney. New to the Disney Dining Plan this year, I was lucky enough to dine here last month. It was excellent and I'll gladly dine there again soon!
Next on my list would be Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Their menu has a great range of selections and my husband enjoyed the Charred Strip Steak as much as our son enjoyed the incredible Spaghetti & Meatball cupcake!
Fourth I'd choose Tutto Italia Ristorante in Epcot. Though it's currently closed for renovation, it reopens for reservations in May 2012.
My last choice would be Tony's Town Square in Magic Kingdom. While there's nothing at all wrong with it and I've enjoyed eating there many times, I definitely prefer the others given the choice!
I'm now feeling very hungry after all this talk about GREAT food. Hope that helps you decide which one(s) to try!
Wishing you a Magical vacation Stephanie!
Kirsten
