I am interested in fishing at Port Orleans at Riverside. I heard there's a "Fishing Hole" to fish at. I wanted to get more information about this if possibe. The cost? The duration? Will equipment be provided? Any help would be greatly appreciate

    Hi Ryan!

The fishing offered at Port Orleans Riverside is cane pole fishing.  It is located on Ol' Man Island just behind the Muddy Waters Pool Bar.  The fishing hole is generally open from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.  However, the last time we were there the hours were significantly modified due to cold weather.

The cane pole and worms are included in the price.  When we did it, it was approximately $4 for an individual and $12.50 for a family.  The family price includes equipment and bait for up to 6 people.  You can call the resort directly at (407) 934-6000 to find the exact price when you are going to be there.

My oldest son, 9 at the time, had a great time and caught several fish.  My youngest son, 4 at the time, was bored within a few minutes leaving me to do all of the fishing with his pole.  Just know that all fishing at Walt Disney World is "catch and release" only.

You may also be interested in a private two hour fishing excursion on the lakes of Walt Disney World.  On that excursion you have a guide, rod and reel, tackle, and bait.  It's a lot more fun than cane pole fishing, but a lot more expensive as well.  If interested, call (407) WDW-BASS (939-2277).

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
