I am interested in doing a gender reveal with the DiveQuest at Epcot. Do they have an underwater writing tablet that we could write the gender of the baby on for our family to view outside of the tank?

Oh, BOY, Jason! Or is it, Oh, GIRL?!

I guess we'll know soon enough when you visit Walt Disney World Resort and surprise your family with your magical news. I'd love to brainstorm a memorable way to share this bouncing baby secret while on your vacation, so let's dive right in.

I chatted with an underwater Cast Member who said that the safety of the sea life and their habitat is of the utmost importance during the EPCOT Seas Adventures—DiveQuest, so all decisions related to your dive will be at the discretion of your dive instructor. Unusual items in the aquarium could be distracting and harmful, but mentioning your plans to the instructor during orientation wouldn't hurt. They might offer a pink or blue item you can gesture to while your family watches. It could be like underwater charades!

Another fun idea is to let any Disney PhotoPass photographer know the wee one's gender and have them surprise everyone in the middle of a photo by shouting, "Jason is having a _____!" The beauty of this plan is that the photographer can capture your family's reaction in real time. Imagine having that memorable moment frozen in a series of photos.

I've also had panelist pals suggest bringing along a prop that gives away the baby's gender. For example, you could reveal a Mickey or Minnie onesie at a strategic moment. You can even request help from a favorite character. Ask the handler beforehand, and remember that it's up to the character to decide if they can help.

No matter what plan you choose or if you simply blurt out your big news over churros, I'm sure your family will be thrilled and delighted. Being together at Disney is the true magic, and I can't wait for your new baby to tag along on his (or her!) first visit.

Please stop by planDisney anytime, Jason! I'm wishing on a starfish that you make some memories aplenty on your visit.

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
