WE ARE INTERESTED IN DOING THE AMORETTE'S CAKE DECORATING EXPERIENCE. HOW IS THE CAKE PACKAGED AT THE END? WE ARE PLANNING TO TAKE A PLANE LATER THAT DAY AND TRAVEL AND WANT TO KNOW IF IT WOULD BE SECURE AND IF IT CAN LAST NOT BEING REFRIGERATED

    Hi Carole,

Welcome to planDisney! We are always happy to hear from guests like you who want to add a little extra magic to a Walt Disney World vacation.

The cake decorating experience at Amorette's Patisserie is one of many excellent Enchanting Extras available across the Walt Disney World Resort. Three friends and I participated in the class last Christmas. Not only did we have a blast, we walked away with enough festive dessert to satisfy our families' sweet tooths for the next two or three days.

The cast members who lead the class provide a great balance of entertainment and education as they walk you step-by-step through the decoration. It's really interactive, with plenty of time to chat with your companions and to sip the beverages (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic, for guests over 21) that are included.

And what fun to see your creation displayed in the showcase at the end!

The 90-minute class takes place before Amorette's opens for the day, and the patisserie will store your cake in the refrigerator for you while you explore Disney Springs. When you are ready to head back to your hotel, it is packaged in a beautiful hat box for you.

The cakes are a bit delicate and should remain refrigerated. At the end of class, they offer instructions for safe transport and storage. My recollection is that they discouraged long-distance transportation of the dessert.

If I were you, I might consider moving the class to an earlier day in your vacation so that you have time to savor your creation. Or, after taking some fun photos with your cake, I would grab forks and dig in while it's fresh and delicious. The cakes serve 8 to 10, so share with friends and family!

I hope that's helpful, Carole. Please let us know if you have other questions.

    Enjoy!

    Wilma
