Hiya Albert!
Welcome to planDisney! Oh boy, have you come to the right place. As a
Disney Vacation Club Member for over 20 years, I can tell you that Disney Vacation Club Membership opens a whole new world to your family trips. Not just to Disney Destinations but beyond as well.
Albert, Disney Vacation Club Membership offers you the best of both worlds. You can indeed use your DVC Vacation Points at Disney Destinations. In all honesty, you will go the distance with your Vacation Points when you use them at Disney Vacation Club Resorts, whether it's your Home Resort should you purchase a contract with the new Disneyland Hotel Villas or at another Disney Vacation Club Resort.
And, I should point out that purchasing into a Home Resort does not limit you to that Resort. It just means that you can book that
Home Resort beginning 11 months in advance of your vacation dates. Alternatively, if say you want to book at another
Disney Vacation Club Resort either at Disneyland, Walt Disney World Resort, or one of the beach locations like Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, Disney's Vero Beach Resort or Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, you can use your Vacation Points for those too. The difference is you can book those
beginning seven months in advance of your vacation dates. Our Home Resort is Disney's Wilderness Lodge, but we often stay at other Disney Vacation Club Resorts. In fact this year, we are using our Vacation Points to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House, Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort, and Aulani (all in the same year!)
Now, Albert let's talk about the "beyond" part. You can use your Vacation Points to stay at any Disney Destination, including
Disney Resorts outside the Disney Vacation Club profile,
Disney Cruise Line cruises, and even
Adventures By Disney and
National Geographic Expeditions vacations. My parents have used their DVC Membership to travel to Peru and Alaska on Adventures By Disney, to stay at the overwater bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Resort, and on several cruises including a Disney Cruise Line cruise on the Panama Canal. In fact, this year, they are traveling on a Disney Cruise Line cruise to Alaska - all purchased using their Disney Vacation Club Vacation Points.
If you want to travel outside of Disney, you can do that too! Using the partnership with Interval Exchange, you can change your Disney Vacation Points over to Vacation Points with this program and travel the world. Our family has done this through the previous exchange partner, RCI, to travel to Austria, Colorado, and California. Albert, the Disney Vacation Club Membership is more than a timeshare. In fact, it can show you the world!
One other huge benefit of DVC Membership is all of the
Member Extras and benefits. These are discounts on hundreds of tickets, tours, experiences, events, shopping and dining; exclusive Member events like Moonlight Magic and Members-only cruises; access to Members-only spaces at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort; and so much more.
As you can see, Albert, DVC Membership can give you the world. If you have more questions, stop back and see me here, and I'll be so happy to help you!
Magically yours,
Keri
