Hi Janis!
So glad you stopped by planDisney today! That means you are considering cruising with Disney Cruise Line-YAY! We’re jumping to the end of your cruise to that “tragical” moment called Debarkation Day. Yes, I get it. It’s a part of every vacation, but it doesn’t mean we have to like it!
The best way to verify the earliest time you should arrange for air transportation is to check the
Ground Transportation link. You would select “Sailing from Miami to The Bahamas or the Caribbean.” Under that tab, Disney Cruise Line will have recommendations about the earliest time you should schedule your flight. In your case, it currently suggests that you fly out no earlier than 11:30 A.M.
I believe you can make these travel arrangements work if you do the Express Walk-Off (typically around 7:30 A.M.) and are among the first Guests leaving the ship. Right now, on the
Disney Dream and the
Disney Magic, Guests choosing to use the Express Walk-Off are advised to be ready to debark as early as 7:00 AM, and be listening for announcements as to when the ship has been cleared by local authorities. Keep in mind that if you choose this method, then you are responsible for carrying off all your luggage. The tradeoff is that you will miss the “See Ya Real Soon” breakfast sendoff, but you will be in a better position to make a late morning flight.
While Disney Cruise Line ground transportation would work for you as an Express Walk-Off Guest, I would feel more comfortable if I took a taxi, private transportation or used a ride sharing company. I know how twitchy I get when I’m on a timetable and if traffic was challenging, it would make me more stressed than I need to be at the end of a fabulous vacation!
Hoping that this convinces you to book that MAGICal voyage and that you will be setting sail with Captain Mickey very soon! We are here if you have more planning questions, so ask away!
SEA ya real soon!
