I am interested in the Cars Land Lightning Drills Fitness Class. Do I need to be a Disney hotel guest to register/participate, and will there be classes in mid-January? Thank you!

Aloha, Taylor, and welcome to planDisney! The fitness classes offered at the Disneyland Resort are a great way to start the day. There are a variety of experiences to choose from, including yoga with a view, power walking through California Adventure, paddleboarding in a pool, and more. It's easy to see why you're excited to join in!

That said, I do want to share an important detail: Currently, these fitness classes are only available to registered Guests of the Disneyland Resort Hotels. As for the schedule, classes are typically booked closer to the date of a Guest's stay – I'd suggest checking near the end of December for an early January visit.

Perhaps you can look into staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel for one or two nights? Each hotel offers a range of amenities, dining options, unique themes, and more. Not only will you be able to book a fitness activity in the park, but you'll also enjoy other perks, such as hotel tours, access to the pool area and fitness center, special demonstrations, and more.

If that isn't a possibility for this trip, I have some other ideas for you, Taylor:

    • Tenaya Stone Spa is a true oasis, located inside the Grand Californian Hotel. You don't have to be a hotel Guest to book a treatment there. I've heard great things about the foot treatments, which would be extra relaxing after a long day of walking in the parks.
    • Character Dining adds an extra sprinkling of pixie dust to any trip. Indulge in an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet while Disney pals take turns visiting your table. It's a unique, laid-back way to meet Characters, and the food is delicious.
    • Set up a challenge for yourself, such as taking 15,000 steps before noon. Or, purchase the Key to Disneyland and time yourself for how quickly you can complete the activity (without running, of course).
    • Feel like paddling? See if the Davy Crockett's Explorer Canoes in Bayou Country are operating. It seems like a great upper-body workout.
Taylor, I hope these ideas inspire some fun for your upcoming vacation. If you think of any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
