Instead of going to the parks on the 1st day, I was thinking about exploring the resorts esp the deluxe ones on the monorail. Is this allowed? I would really like to take a look at these beautiful resorts since I'll never get to stay there. LOL thanks!

First of all Stacie never say never!!! Disney often offers some great value packages that are even including the deluxe resorts so keep your eyes and ears open for one of these and see if you can fit it in your budget for your next trip!

You are more than welcome to explore and enjoy all the resorts on property.  I suggest you take a bus from your resort and head to the Magic Kingdom. From there you can hop on the monorail and get off at each resort along the way.  Maybe you can have breakfast at one, lunch at another, and end your day with dinner somewhere special.  When you get back to the Magic Kingdom on the monorail consider taking time to hop on a boat and head to Fort Wilderness. This is another great way for you to explore a part of Walt Disney World you might not ever get to.  Fort Wilderness is a fun place and you can visit the Disney stables, dine at Trails End (my favorite Disney buffet) or even get a reservation for the fabulous dinner show, Hoop De Doo.  Enjoy your day of exploring and head to as many places as possible!
