Hi Celia and welcome to planDisney!
The
My Disney Experience Mobile App is such a useful digital tool for any Walt Disney World vacation. There are so many things you can do from it like check attraction wait times, view maps of the theme parks,
mobile order food and drinks, make purchases in the shops using
Merchandise Mobile Checkout,
unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door and so much more. Having the shortcut to the app on your device's home screen is a great idea so you can quickly pull it up whenever you want.
I am also an Android user, so hopefully I can walk you through how to move the app icon to your home screen. After you have downloaded the app, the phone usually places the icon on the first available open spot. On mine, this is usually on my third home screen. Make sure you have an open spot on the screen that you would like the icon on. After you have located it, click and hold the icon and then drag it all the way to the left until you get to your main home screen and drop it where you would like it to be. If you can't find the icon on one of your home screen pages, you can locate it in your main list of apps. On my Android device, I swipe up from the bottom to view my entire app list. Click and hold on the app and drag it towards the top of your screen until your home pages show up and then continue to drag it to where you would like it to stay. Hopefully one of these two ways will have you taken care of.
How exciting that your trip is coming up in just a few weeks! June is a great time to visit Walt Disney World because the
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing. Hopefully you have an EPCOT park day scheduled so you can enjoy all the festival has to offer including delicious cuisine from the
Outdoor Kitchens and the beautiful
character topiaries located all around the park.
Please stop back by if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
