I have an inspire key and am trying to make reservations for October 27th, but it is not letting book. It should not be blocked out. 😭

    Hello, Nicole,

In the words of a certain silly, old bear, "Oh, bother." It would appear that the limited number of theme park reservations available to Disneyland Resort Magic Key holders for Friday, October 27, 2023, has been fully booked by other Passholders. So, although most pass types are not blocked on that day, the park capacity limits have been met by those who have already booked park reservations.

As a fellow out-of-state Magic Key holder, I fully understand the disappointment this can cause. My family and I had a similar experience when we planned a vacation on New Year’s Eve a couple of years ago. We were heartbroken to find that our special vacation to The Happiest Place on Earth might not happen due to the lack of available park reservations for our Magic Key passes that day. But we did make it work. So there is still some hope! I would like to share with you two tips for booking hard-to-find park reservations for Magic Key holders.

The first tip is to check the Magic Key Access Calendar frequently. Other Passholders may need to change their plans. So when they cancel their park reservations, the reservations may become available for you to book. Passholders have until 11:59 PM the day before a given park reservation to cancel it without incurring a possible no-show restriction on making or modifying future reservations. So you may find reservation availability possibly up to that point.

But what about those of us who have out-of-state travel plans to make before a visit to the Disneyland Resort? It can be unsettling to book lodging and transportation to Southern California without knowing for sure that we will be able to visit the theme parks while we are in town. In those cases, another possible approach is to book a hotel-only stay at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels. Besides amazing pool areas, beautiful theming, and proximity to the Downtown Disney District and the theme parks, another great benefit available to on-site hotel Guests is access to theme park reservations exclusively for hotel Guests. Although this pool of reservations is also limited, it is common to still find availability there even when regular park reservations for park tickets and Magic Key passes have run out. Park reservations for hotel Guests are booked through the "My Hotel Reservations" page.

I hope this helps as you plan your upcoming vacation to the Disneyland Resort, Nicole. Do you have any other questions? You’ve got a friend in me and in my fellow planDisney pals. We’d love to hear from you again soon.
