Do you have to be inside the parks to take Disney transportation? Our time share is close to the Animal Kingdom, so I was hoping to cab to the entrance & take Disney transportation to the theme and water parks from AK. Is this possible without a parkho

    Hi Diandra!

You do not have to be staying in a Disney Resort hotel in order to use Disney transportation.  You simply have to be visiting Walt Disney World.  All of the transportation is complimentary to guests.  That said, there is no Disney transportation from the "entrance" as the entrance to Walt Disney World is basically a sign over or next to a road that says "Walt Disney World".  Walt Disney World is about the size of San Francisco and there is no transportation to the borders.

Instead, Disney transportation runs between the resort hotels and the theme parks and between the resort hotels and Downtown Disney.  There is no direct transportation from Downtown Disney to the theme parks.

So, in your case, you could take a cab to a resort hotel and then take Disney transportation to the theme parks and the water parks.  Another option is to take a cab to your first theme park and then use Disney transportation to visit any other parks after that.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
