Hi Colleen,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I think you are going to love
Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, especially the amazing Stormalong Bay pool area!
My family loves relaxing in our resort room after a long morning or evening of pounding the magical pavement. As of right now, the only Walt Disney World Resort rooms that feature movie rentals are
Disney Vacation Club villas, where there are DVD players in the rooms and a selection of DVDs that can be borrowed from the DVC lounge. My family brings an iPad from home, and we usually download some new Disney movies that are special for our trip. If we do watch the in-room television, it’s usually something on Disney Junior or the Disney Nature channel. There is also complimentary WiFi internet in your resort room, so you could stream a movie using your favorite streaming service if you have a mobile device with you.
Another thing we love to do is get our jammies on and head down for
Movies Under the Stars, even if we just stay for a few minutes. Your front desk Cast Members will share the movie schedule for your stay when you check in, and information will be posted in your resort. Enjoying a favorite movie while snuggling under the stars is a really magical way to end a Disney Day.
Colleen, I also recommend asking your Guest Services Cast Members about in-room movies. Things at Walt Disney World are always changing, and it never hurts to ask. Plus, that gives you an opportunity to share some feedback about an amenity you would really appreciate.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
