Hello moms, I was inquiring about any tips anyone may have about having a safe and memorable vacation !!with my family. first time disney mom with a very over active young boy. we went to legoland and didn't have such a good time. major anxiety!

    Hello Caroline,

A first visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is so exciting, and, as the mother of a child that is also very active, I can understand why you are feeling a bit anxious. Throughout our many visits, I have been able to find some things that have worked for us, and I'm happy to share them with you:

~Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and take advantage of Extra Magic Hours. The crowd level tends to be lower during Extra Magic Hours, so there will be less of a wait in line for Attractions.

~Reserve FastPass+ for your "must-do" Attractions and Entertainment. You can reserve up to three FastPass+ selections per day 60 days in advance of your arrival when staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. (30 days in advance if you are staying off property) You can either reserve online or by using the My Disney Experience app or you can reserve the same day at an in-park FastPass+ kiosk. Once you redeem your initial three passes, head to a kiosk where you’ll be able to make another selection.

~Purchase a special game/app that your son can play only while waiting in line. Each time we visit we let our daughter choose a game to purchase that she can only play if we are waiting in a long Attraction queue. She enjoys choosing the app and sometimes even wishes the wait were longer so she can continue with her game play. Special snacks for wait times have worked for us too in keeping her occupied and less antsy.

~Have a plan and share it with your son. We always plan out each day of our visit and make sure that we share what it is with our daughter so that she knows what to expect. Purchase some Disney themed stickers, and have him place them in a special book after you complete each experience on your "Disney To-Do List".

I hope these suggestions help! Please visit us again should you have any additional vacation planning questions!
