Hi Ash, and welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for your question about water transportation between Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Wilderness Lodge, which are two of my absolute favorites to chat about. From the panoramic views and iconic dining at
Chef Mickey’s and
California Grill at Contemporary, to the warm, rustic charm, fantastic pool, and delicious
Story Book Dining at Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, you truly can’t go wrong whether you’re staying in or just stopping by.
When it comes to getting between the two via boat, here’s what I’ve learned. According to the
Water Transportation information, the water taxis that run between Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Disney’s Wilderness Lodge generally arrive every 15 to 30 minutes. Keep in mind that weather or water conditions can temporarily affect service, but in my experience, Disney is quick to provide alternate transportation when needed. This route is considered the blue-flag water taxi route and operates primarily in the afternoon and evening hours, usually from around 3:00 PM until approximately 10:30 PM.
Since the system times are always subject to change, I recommend checking with a Cast Member when you arrive to make sure those boats are running and what their schedule looks like for your visit. If for some reason they aren’t in service, there are always bus and monorail routes nearby to get you where you need to go.
I hope this helps you plan your route between these two iconic resorts. If you'd like more ideas for navigating, dining, or fitting in a little extra magic during your stay, please reach out.
I'd love to help make your visit as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
Cheers!
Brent
