G'day, Andy, and welcome to planDisney! I love spending time with my family at the Disneyland Resort, especially on Mother's Day. What's more magical than having fun with the people you love most at the Happiest Place on Earth? There are a few ways to make the day even more special. Let's get into it!
When I was at Disneyland last year on Mother's Day, Cast Members waited just beyond the entrance in the morning with carnations for Guests. It added a little extra pixie dust to the start of our day! I imagine this tradition will continue, but haven't seen any official announcements. Make sure you enter the park earlier in the day just in case – last year, the flowers were all given out by lunch. You can also get a complimentary "I'm Celebrating" button and write "Mom" on it. City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A., Guest Services on Buena Vista Street, and many retail locations around the parks have them – just ask a Cast Member.
Andy, there are some fantastic buffet options just for Mother's Day as well. Reservations are highly recommended, so check with your travel agent about availability.
- Plaza Inn will host a Mother's Day Brunch on May 10 and 11 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be an array of options, including Minnie waffles, made-to-order omelettes, oven-baked turkey, pastries, and much more! The brunch also includes a special picture moment featuring Minnie Mouse and a limited-edition pin.
- Over at the Disneyland Resort hotels, Storytellers Cafe and Goofy's Kitchen will also have a Mother's Day Buffet for brunch and dinner on May 10 and 11. For these Mother's Day buffets, Disney Characters will make appearances at both the brunch and dinner seatings. At the time of writing this, there are still a good number of reservations available for both locations.
Of course, you can also get a reservation for one of the other amazing restaurants at the Disneyland Resort. I recently had the most wonderful lunch at
Blue Bayou. There's a perpetual nighttime ambiance with softly glowing lights and a view of the Pirates of the Caribbean boats gliding by. The Mint Julep and Crème Brûlée Tart are absolutely delicious!
The Disney Parks Blog shared a
great foodie guide last year for Mother's Day. It detailed a few special treats available for purchase at select locations in the park, such as a tulip-shaped cake pop and a beautifully decorated Mother’s Day Cookie. I suggest
checking the blog in a few weeks to see if a similar guide will be shared for 2025.
Is anyone in your family a Star Wars fan, Andy? Season of the Force will be at Disneyland through May 11. There is themed food and merchandise to explore, as well as special Characters visiting from a galaxy far, far away. I love Hyperspace Mountain, a thrilling adventure where you'll encounter X-wing starfighters and Imperial TIE fighters! And don't miss Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga, a mesmerizing projection show in
Galaxy's Edge.
Andy, I hope you have a magical visit with lots of laughter, great food, and happy moments. Please reach out if you have any other questions as your trip approaches. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
