Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Beverly!
You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney. How exciting that you are planning a great big beautiful family trip to Walt Disney World. Traveling with family and friends is a wonderful way to make so many magical memories together.
Beverly, your family-in-law can certainly book their own Resort room and tickets, and then you can connect your travel plans via the
Family & Friends option in your
My Disney Experience accounts. If they don't have a My Disney Experience account yet, they will want to make one. You can then go into your My Disney Experience account and invite them to connect. You would do this for each of the individuals in their party. Here's how to do that:
1. Log into your My Disney Experience account (you can do this on Desktop or on the Mobile app.)
2. Go to your Profile (or in the app click on the three horizontal lines on the bottom right corner and then go to Profile.) Select "Family & Friends List."
3. It will show the Guests already on your list. On Desktop, you can select the blue button that says "Add A Guest" or on the app, if you scroll all the way to the end you'll see "+ Add a Guest."
You will have the option to search for a Guest (if your in-laws have a My Disney Experience account already) and invite them to connect. Or you can create a profile for someone who doesn't have a My Disney Experience account or invite someone to create a My Disney Experience account.
Once you add everyone in your travel party to your Family & Friends list, you can link tickets, add notes to your day, link Resort hotel reservations, share photos, book
Dining Reservations, and purchase and select
Lightning Lane Passes — and plan your magical Disney vacation together! This way, your in-laws will be able to book their room and purchase their tickets on their own, but you will be able to connect all of your travel plans together.
I hope this helps you, Beverly! If you have any further Disney vacation planning questions, soar back here to see me and I'll be so happy to help you.
Magically Yours,
Keri
