Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Cameron!

You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney.  Thanks for stopping by with your question.  Like you, I'm someone who likes to plan Walt Disney World vacations way in advance. Not only does it give me plenty of time to make my trips practically perfect in every way, but with all that anticipation, my visit feels extra magical once it finally arrives.  I'm excited to hear you're already thinking about your jolly holiday for 2024 –– with all that planning, I think you're in for a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocius time!

While Disney Resorts Collection hotel reservations can be made up to 499 days in advance, Walt Disney World theme park admission and ticket packages don't go on sale quite so early –– in fact, tickets for the upcoming calendar year usually pop up during the Summer beforehand.  To give you an example, 2023 tickets went on sale this year on June 8, 2022.  Since that timeframe has been pretty consistent over the last few years, I expect 2024 tickets to be available beginning sometime in June 2023.  Depending on how long you plan to visit, you'll have the choice to either purchase admission for one park per day or add the Park Hopper Option to your ticket, which will allow you to hop to any other Walt Disney World theme park beginning at 2 PM (if you'd like to visit all four parks, but don't plan to spend four or more days at Walt Disney World, Park Hopping is a great way to maximize your time). For any announcements about 2024 dates, as well as all the latest Walt Disney World news and updates, I definitely recommend keeping an eye on Disney Parks Blog as your arrival gets a little closer.

And while I can't say for certain what the procedure for making theme park reservations and purchasing Genie+ will be at that time, I can tell you that right now, you can see Disney Park Pass availability and make theme park reservations through the middle of January 2024.  You also have the ability to add the Disney Genie+ service to your ticket beginning at midnight on the day of your visit (Guests no longer have the option to add Genie+ to their ticket in advance). Like ticket announcements, Disney Parks Blog is going to be your best source of news for any changes to Walt Disney World policies and procedures.

Finally, there isn't currently an option to make payments directly through the Walt Disney World website for ticket purchases –– the payment option is only available for room and ticket packages.  Since you have some time before tickets go on sale, though, one way to feel like you're making payments is to start putting a certain amount of money aside each month that will go towards the purchase of your tickets.  You might also consider purchasing a Disney Gift Card and adding to the gift card balance each month.  When 2024 tickets go on sale next year, your monthly savings can be used to pay for all or part of your tickets.  I use a similar strategy to pay for dining and souvenirs as I'm planning a Walt Disney World vacation –– after months of adding to a Disney Gift Card, I have peace of mind knowing that those costs will be covered once our vacation begins.  In a way, it almost makes our trip feel like an all-inclusive vacation and it's definitely another added benefit of planning a visit way in advance!

I'm so glad you stopped by planDisney, Cameron.  If you think of new planning questions as your visit gets closer, please don't hesitate to drop in again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
