Hey, Sarah, and welcome to planDisney; the most magical place on the internet to answer your Disney vacation questions. Disney Resorts are known for providing its Guests with a variety of dietary options. For us, we only eat kosher meat and Disney gives us the ability to sit down and enjoy a meal even during Pesach (with wrapped Matzah).
I have been in contact with Special Diets at Disneyland Resort. As of now, I am unable to provide you with an exact list of kosher food options. Because ordering and availability vary by time of year and dining location, there is no guarantee a specific meal will be available.
Special Diets gave me this advice to pass along to you. You may make Table Service Dining Reservations 60 days in advance and may contact Special Diets (Special.Diets@Disneyland.com) no earlier than 30 days prior to your visit. I would recommend you contact them 30 days in advance and then follow up at 14 days. Around 3-5 days prior to your visit, call Disney Dining Reservations (714-781-4636) who will know more specifically what meals are available. In your email provide your name, the theme parks you plan to visit, the dining location, and on what day, as well as your desired food. For example, if you want chicken at Smokejumpers Grill because you are going to be at Disney California Adventure Park, let them know that and how many meals will be needed. You should also be able to mix dishes so one Guest could have beef and a different Guest, chicken.
Currently, Kosher meals are available at the following theme park locations (subject to change). Typically, we wait about 20 minutes for kosher meal preparation (via steam) and meals range from $10-$15 per meal (subject to change).
Disneyland Park
- Blue Bayou Restaurant
- Cafe Orleans
- Red Rose Taverne
Disney California Adventure Park
- Smokejumpers Grill
- Wine Country Trattoria
Disney's Grand California Resort & Spa
- Napa Rose
- Storytellers Cafe
Disneyland Hotel
- Goofy's Kitchen
The current caterer (subject to change) is Borenstein Caterer, Inc. out of Jamaica, New York, however, there may be meals available from another provider at the time you visit. At a minimum, Borenstein Caterer, Inc. is under the supervision of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America (OU). All dairy is Cholov Yisroel and all breads are Pas Yisroel. Current offerings are OU-labeled double-wrapped airplane-style meals heated after you order. Separate dining utensils should also be provided.
In the past, the types of meals below are examples and have been offered in the past. Only Disney Special Diets and Disney Dining will be able to provide current information.
- Chicken Strips w/ Potato Pancake & Corn
- Macaroni and Cheese
- Kosher Cheese Pizza
- Hamburger Dinner w/ Potato Pancake & Vegetable
- Hot Dog Dinner w/ Potato Pancake & Vegetable
- Vegetable Lasagna w/ Vegetables
- Poached Salmon w/ Yellow Rice & Vegetables
- Brisket of Beef w/ Potato Kugel and Vegetable
Sarah, I hope this information helps you enjoy the magic of Disney without having to pack and carry a lot of food. I am still waiting on a more detailed response from Disney Special Diets. Please write me back directly in a couple of weeks when I expect I will have more information. I am also available to answer other planning questions to help make your Disneyland Resort vacation more enchanted.
Enjoy making many delicious and Magical Memories.
