Will we get information on what happening at the parks durning our stay?

You bet, Carrie!  Upon check-in at your Disney resort you will be given a "packet" that includes theme park schedules for the week of your stay.  Many of Disney's resorts also host special events such as poolside movies or games; those events, too, (if applicable) will be listed in the packet you receive at check-in.  Additionally, you'll also want to be sure to pick up a Times Guide at the park entrance when you arrive at any of the four major theme parks.  Those times guides provide detailed schedules as far as character meet and greet opportunities and other entertainment options within the park on any given day.  I hope that helps!
