The information here on Genie+ and individual LL has been really helpful. One follow up question…Genie+ and Individual LL are separate, correct? So you can be booking Genie+ attractions and Individual LL at the same time. Do I understand that correctly?

    Hi Elda!

Thanks for bringing us your question. I'm so glad you've been able to take advantage of all the great information from my fellow panelists here at planDisney. We pride ourselves on helping guests have their most magical vacations and are always glad to share our best tips, tricks and recommendations.

You are correct that Disney Genie+ Service and Individual Lightning Lane Entry purchases are separate entities. You can use them together or a la carte to reduce your standby wait at many popular attractions throughout the parks. If you review the list of eligible attractions at Magic Kingdom Park, for example, you'll notice that Lightning Lane entrances for many attractions and experiences are accessible using Genie+. However, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run Presented by Enterprise are not included with the service. You can opt to purchase an Individual Lightning Lane to experience these attractions while using Genie+ to enjoy the others.

You can also access all attractions at Magic Kingdom Park, subject to availability, via the standby line (except for TRON Lightcycle / Run). I typically schedule Lightning Lane return windows via Genie+ and then hop in the standby line for attractions with lower wait times while waiting for my return window to begin.

On a recent visit with a friend we had a clear park-hopping strategy to accomplish and ended up utilizing the Multiple Parks option for Genie+ and purchasing Individual Lightning Lanes for both TRON Lightcycle / Run and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT. These purchases really maximized our time and helped us tick off all the attractions on our list. However on days when I'm just visiting EPCOT or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park I'll usually forgo Genie+ and just purchase one Individual Lightning Lane for my top ride at that park. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and Avatar Flight of Passage have always proved to be worth the purchase on busy park days.

Guests are limited to purchasing two Individual Lightning Lanes per day so if you have Park Hopper Option tickets you'll want to choose carefully. At Magic Kingdom Park, I often purchase one for TRON Lightcycle / Run and hop in the standby line for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train just before the parks close for the day. Guests also have the option to join a Virtual Queue for TRON Lightcycle / Run instead of purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane. I've had great success getting a boarding group with the Virtual Queue, but keep in mind you won't be able to select your preferred return time.

I hope this was helpful, Elda. If you need further clarification or recommendations for what to purchase for your particular visit please don't hesitate to come back and let me know. I'd be happy to suggest a game plan to help you have the best day ever at your preferred park.

    Magic and memories,
