I would like some information on the Disney Dining Plan. Do you think it is worth getting? Do you have to buy room and tickets through Disney to get it or can you get it with just a room reservation if you already have tickets?

    Dear Christy,

Thanks for reaching out to us again here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question about the Disney Dining Plan!

Choosing the Disney Dining Plan is a very personal decision. I have many friends (including other Moms Panelists!) who love the "pre-paid" aspect of it, and that it makes their Walt Disney World vacation feel like an all-inclusive experience since they don't have to worry about dining bills during their stay. They love the choice that it offers. For those families who love to do a lot of character meals or dinner shows, it can be well worth it! For my family, we typically do not purchase the Disney DIning Plan because we prefer to pay out of pocket as we go. We don't usually eat a lot of Table-Service meals and we find that it works well for our family to pre-purchase Disney gift cards and use those instead.

You can purchase the Disney Dining Plan to add to your room-only reservation if you have already purchased tickets, but in order to do that, you would have to call the Walt Disney World Resort as that option is not available to book online.

    Hope that helps!
