There is information circling on the internet stating that Canadian's visiting DW are not eligible to book the new LLMP 7 days in advance despite staying at a DW resort. Please can you confirm if this is true.

Hi there Amanda, and a warm Canadian welcome back to planDisney!

I've been closely observing some of the chatter online following the recent announcement of updated Lightning Lane passes at Walt Disney World Resort and while this is still currently slated to launch on July 24, I took the opportunity to ask as many questions as possible about how this might apply to so many concerned Canadian folks looking forward to their trips down this year.

You'll be happy to hear that as of the last official messaging this week, "Canadian guests may continue to use the My Disney Experience app after the launch of pre-arrival purchasing and planning for Lightning Lane passes." While Lightning Lane passes are still currently unavailable for international guests to purchase and book ahead of arrival in the United States, it appears that as far as fellow Canucks go, this is something that they will in fact be able to take advantage of using the My Disney Experience app without needing to find some way across the border in order to do so. This was official information from Disney that had been communicated to news sources as well as travel agencies, so I'm personally keen to observe it in practice soon (especially as we've already experienced how offerings may be subject to change without prior notice).

I highly encourage you to keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog where you can not only find our dedicated planDisney content but also any updates and developments on Lightning Lane passes and policies as everything launches later this month. In the meantime at least, you can rest assured that you'll be able to purchase and plan from home if everything remains to be as Canadians are hoping it to be! Come back again to planDisney again soon for any other answers or advice, and I'll continue to keep an eye on the situation to bring the most up-to-date information that I can from this end!
