Some info on the website says the Oceaneer Kids Club ages are 3-12 and some say 3-10. Can my 11 year old daughter go to the younger kids club with her siblings on the Wish? She is worried she will be all alone otherwise.

    Ahoy, Tyson!

Thanks for dropping anchor at planDisney with your question! Disney Cruise Line’s Youth Clubs truly bring the magic, and I completely understand wanting to ensure your daughter feels comfortable and connected with her siblings. My own kids are close in age, and we’ve navigated this same scenario more than once—so let’s chart a course to ensure smooth sailing for your crew.

The Oceaneer Club on all Disney ships, including the Wish, is officially designated for children ages 3 to 10 who are fully potty-trained. For kids over 10, like your daughter, the programming shifts to Edge (ages 11–14) or Vibe (ages 14–17). While your daughter won’t be able to join her siblings in the Oceaneer Club during regular programming hours, there’s still plenty of magic to be shared. My daughter has spent hours in Edge playing games, crafting, and even joining group challenges.

During the scheduled Open House hours in the Oceaneer Club, all ages—including parents—can enter and explore the incredible spaces together. Your daughter and her siblings can check out immersive areas like Star Wars: Cargo Bay, Fairytale Hall, and Marvel Super Hero Academy as a team. Similarly, Edge and Vibe hold Open House sessions too, so your whole family can pop in for some fun!

If one of her siblings is 10, you might also consider speaking with a Youth Activities counselor in Edge once you’re onboard. They’ve been known to work a little pixie dust to bridge the gap, depending on space availability. My son was in a similar transition phase recently, and he loved being able to choose between the Oceaneer Club and Edge based on what appealed to him that day.

Since your daughter might be venturing into Edge solo at first, I highly recommend encouraging her to attend the Ice Breaker event on the first night of the cruise. This is an incredible opportunity for her to meet other kids her age and discover what Edge has to offer. I can’t tell you how many lifelong friends we’ve made on Disney cruises—it’s one of my favorite things about sailing! Be sure to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app once onboard to confirm timing and see what other amazing activities are planned for Edge.

Another great space for everyone to come together is the Hero Zone on the Disney Wish. This action-packed spot features a basketball court, air hockey, ping pong, and sometimes the Incredi-Games obstacle course. It’s perfect for family fun and sibling bonding.

While your daughter might feel a little uncertain at first, I promise she’ll have no shortage of opportunities to make memories—both with her siblings and with new friends. And who knows? You may find yourself joining in the fun for a video game face-off or air hockey match. I know I never pass up the chance to play with my kids when I can!

Wishing you smooth seas, magical moments, and sibling adventures to treasure forever!

Sea ya real soon with pixie dust and ocean breezes,
    Dustin
