    I would like some info on the magical express. does the bus wait to fill up before leaving the airport or is it scheduled per family/flight? how much time does it typically take to get to a resort (Caribbean)? about how much would a cab be instead? thx

    I can't say definitively what is the trigger that gets them to send a bus off on it's way. But you will find they try to get it partially full before it leaves. They have a good idea of who is coming in when, as well as where they are going, so the waiting time at the bus loading area is fairly short. They will not hold a bus indefinitely just to fill it up. From personal experience;

    • I have been on a bus that left the airport for our resorts only about half filled. So no, they don't wait to fill it up
    • I have never been on a bus that was even close to totally full
    • I have never sat on the bus more than 15 minutes waiting for them to leave, though I have friends report waits as long as 20
    The bus ride typically takes 30 minutes to get from the airport to the first resort. That is also how long a cab ride will take, though the cab will cost you at least $60. The bus may stop at up to 3 resorts. In my last two trips I was at the third resort stop, and still the total ride time was still only about 45 minutes.

    Also, and I think this is important: we like the ride. The kids love the video on the bus, as well as the cartoons. I like being free from driving, parking, renting, etc.

    BOTTOM LINE: We always use Magical Express. We do it to save money, because the ride is enjoyable, and because we like not having to worry about luggage or transportation. We have NEVER been dissatisfied with either waiting or travel time.

    Write me back with any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
