Hi I would like to get info on the kosher food that’s available and how I can see prices etc?

    Hi there friend.

Thank you for visiting planDisney! In the last several years, Disney has listened to feedback and has made big improvements to their menu options. There are a lot more vegetarian and vegan options beyond a basic salad. Disney has also improved their ability to accommodate special dietary needs. The Disneyland app and the Disneyland website provide a complete menu for its dining facilities and list prices for nearly all items. I had to dig a little deeper to find out what you needed. I am happy to report that just like Princess Tiana, Disney is committed to making sure your taste buds sing!

Special dietary requests, such as kosher food, can often be prepared at table service restaurants. These are sit down style restaurants across Disneyland and California Adventure. To help make sure your needs are met, I would recommend making your dining reservations as soon as possible. Dining reservations for table service can happen 60 days in advance. After consulting with my fellow Disneyland panelist, they also recommend emailing Special.Diets@Disneyland.com two weeks in advance and then again 48 hours in advance to ensure meals will be available at the restaurants you plan to dine at. Once you are at the restaurant, remind your server about your kosher requests.

If you don’t have time to give advance notice, the following places can easily accommodate kosher meal requests (subject to availability). At Disneyland, you can dine at the Blue Bayou Restaurant, Café Orleans, and the Red Rose Taverne. At Disney California Adventure you can dine at Smokejumpers Grill and Wine Country Trattoria. The meal may take a bit longer to prepare because of the shorter notice, so I recommend having your meals either before or after the typical meal time rush (Noon and 5pm). You could also head to your preferred dining locations at the start of your day and just let a Cast Member know about your kosher request and return later in the day for your meal.

Disney takes care in preparing their kosher meals. All kosher meals are purchased from a certified kosher vendor and come sealed. The meals will be prepared and served to you without breaking the seal. There are also Individually wrapped kosher utensils that will be provided with your meal.

I hope this was helpful information. If you have any other questions or need help planning other aspects of a magical trip, please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelist, and we would be happy to share our thoughts.

    Bon appetite

    -Melinda
