Ahoy there, Guillermina! Welcome to planDisney.
It looks like you’ll be sailing on an upcoming Disney cruise at the beginning of August. You must be getting excited as you countdown to Embarkation Day. Unlike other mainstream cruise lines,
Disney Cruise Line does not have drink packages in the traditional sense. Instead, most non-alcoholic beverages available onboard are included in the price of your Disney cruise. Freshly brewed coffee, tea, sodas, and juices are available throughout the day from the buffet, from beverage stations on the pool deck and in the main dining rooms. Certain beverages will incur additional costs, such as if you order a canned soda, bottled water or specialty coffee at one of the bars or lounges. If you purchase a canned soda or bottled water at the concession stands (such as outside the Walt Disney Theater), these will also cost extra. Smoothies and milk shakes can also be purchased onboard for a nominal fee.
In regard to alcoholic beverages, there are wine packages that can be purchased prior to your sailing on the
Onboard Gifts webpage, or you can purchase it during dinner once you’re onboard. These packages range from 3 to 7 bottles, classic or premium brands. These wines will be available for you to enjoy in the main dining room. If you can’t finish the bottle in one sitting, you can either take it back with you to enjoy in your stateroom, or your dining room servers will save it for the following night’s dinner. If you are unable to drink all the wine in your package, you’re allowed to carry up to 2 bottles of wine off the ship.
If you prefer to enjoy a refreshing beer while hanging out in the pool, be sure to check out the
Beer Mug Savings Package. You’ll get a beer mug (which makes a nice souvenir) that you can take to any onboard bar and get a 21-ounce beer refill for the price of a 16-ounce pour. If you don’t want to carry around a beer mug during your cruise, you can ask for a beer mug token which you can redeem at a bar when you’re ready for your next drink.
Also, Disney Cruise Line allows Guests over the age of 21 to bring a maximum of 2 unopened bottles of wine or champagne (no more than 750 mL) or 6 beers (no more than 12 ounces) onboard. On Embarkation Day, be sure to have these items in your carry-on bags, not in your checked luggage.
I hope this information is helpful as you continue to plan your upcoming trip. If you have more questions, please don’t hesitate to sail by
planDisney again.
Bon voyage,
Kiki
