Hello there, Heather!
When I first read your question, I immediately thought of Boo’s disguise costume from Monsters, Inc. Like you, I always enjoy taking advantage of every opportunity I have to dress up, especially when I’m sailing on the
Disney Cruise Line. I even wear stripes and nautical clothing on casual days!
Heather, I looked into the costume guidance, and costumes must be family-friendly, not obstructive or objectionable, offensive or violent. Masks that completely cover your face may only be worn if you are standing still at a character photo location. I’m sure you aren’t planning on bringing any mischievous costumes, but please note that whether or not a costume is allowed is completely up to the Disney Cruise Line crew members.
Overall, children can wear costumes at any time aboard Disney Cruise Line, but adult Guests should keep costumes limited to sailings with
Halloween on the High Seas voyages,
Marvel Day at Sea celebrations, or
Pirate Nights. A number of select sailings offer Pirate Nights, where you have a pirate-themed menu during one night of the cruise, and they put on a special buccaneer bash fit for a pirate. I always like to pack a pirate hat, sash, or bandana, just in case. The pirate outfits make for some adorable photos at dinner.
I hope these tips help you and your party become best buddies like Mike and Sully. Let us know if you need any other advice.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
