Do individuals visiting Downtown Disney during the amusement park closures have to go through security check points to enter the Disney downtown restaurants and shops?

    Hello Paula!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks so much for the great question!

A little bit of magic has returned to the Disneyland Resort with the recent re-opening of the Downtown Disney District! I can’t wait for you to experience it for yourself with all the newly implemented health and safety measures!

Upon arrival, all Guests are required to undergo temperature screenings prior to entering the Downtown Disney District. Anyone displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above will be directed to an additional location for re-screening. A Guest with a temperature of 100.4 F or above and in anyone in their traveling party will not be allowed entry.

Next, you’ll be required to pass through a security screening. Don’t forget that in order to gain admission, all Guests age 2 and older are required to wear a face covering that is secured with ties or ear loops. Guests may only remove their face covering while actively eating or drinking outside. And, Guests must also remain stationary while a face covering is removed and maintain appropriate physical distance from others.

Ready for some retail therapy? At some retail locations including World of Disney and Marceline’s Confectionery, a mobile wait list system may be utilized in order to manage the number of Guests shopping. You’ll have the opportunity to provide your name and mobile number to a Cast Member and receive a text message when it’s your turn to shop!

With all that shopping, you're bound to work up an appetite! You're in luck! There are plenty of places to enjoy a delicious meal! Ballast Point Brewing Co. and Tortilla Jo’s are the most recent Downtown Disney restaurants to reopen. Following state and county guidelines, all restaurant seating is outdoor patio only. And, to promote physical distancing all parties will be seated at tables 6 feet apart. Also, all Guests are encouraged to use cashless payment options such as debit and credit cards, Disney Gift Cards and mobile wallet when making purchases at the Downtown Disney District.

For a list of all open locations and to review all the new guidelines, please visit the Downtown Disney website before your visit.

Now you're all set for your fun-filled day at Downtown Disney District! Please come see us again with future questions!
