Hello, Debbie. I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney with your question. I can see that your vacation to the most magical place on earth is coming up in May. That'll be here before you know it. I bet you are getting so excited.
Debbie, I've been an
Annual Passholder for years now and I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I am excited to see that you might be considering joining the Annual Passholder family when they become available for purchase again. At this time, Debbie, there has been no word on when the sale of new Annual Passes will be coming back for the general public to buy. However, I don't think the program is going anywhere because there are a select few groups of people who are able to purchase new Annual Passes at this time. If you were an Annual Passholder when the shutdown happened last year and decided to cancel your Annual Pass for a refund instead of just extending the expiration date, you are able to apply for a new Annual Pass. This is being done on a case-by-case basis with Guest Services. Also, if you have a child that has recently turned three and now requires valid theme park admission, you can purchase them a new Annual Pass as well. In addition to those new passes being sold, if you have an existing annual pass that is about to expire, Guests are able to do so at this time. All of those things has lead me to believe that Walt Disney World will be opening up the sale of new Annual Passes for everyone in the near future. If and when that announcement is made, we will be able to find all of the details over on the
Disney Parks Blog. Until the Annual Pass program is reinstated for new sales, Debbie, you are able to purchase 2 different types of tickets. The first is a standard theme park ticket that allows entry into one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks per day. The other option is a standard theme park ticket with the park hopper option. The park hopper allows you to enter multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. Park hopping is my absolute favorite way to spend a day at Walt Disney World. I really enjoy being able to experience several of my favorite things at all of the theme parks throughout the day.
Debbie, I have my fingers crossed for you that you'll be able to purchase an Annual Pass very soon. If you have any other questions about the program or anything else, please feel free to come back and
ask me. Have fun!
