Hi Florine,
Welcome back to planDisney! It's my privilege to help you again as you make your plans for your next Walt Disney World vacation.
As a resident of Florida, I'm very carefully watching all the news about reopening guidelines for restaurants, workplaces and recreational activities. I'm confident Walt Disney World officials are keeping even closer tabs on the developments. Safety has always been the top priority at the Disney properties, and that is heightened during this time.
We do not have any information yet on when capacity will be increased and when
FastPass+, special events, park hopping and other familiar features might be able to return. What we do know is that, through the end of 2020,
holiday activities have been modified. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, the Candlelight Processional, gingerbread displays in the resorts and other festivities are on hiatus. And the
Disney Park Pass reservation system remains in effect.
While we are all hopeful for a return to more normal operations soon, my best guess is that the
phased reopening measures, including the suspension of FastPass+, will be with us for the foreseeable future.
As news develops, you'll usually see it first on the
Disney Parks Blog or on the
operational updates page of the Walt Disney World website. Or feel free to check back with the planDisney panelists often with your questions. We're always happy to help and to share any new information as we can.
Wishing you a magical visit in November, Florine!
Wilma
