I’m happy to help answer your question about any holds required upon check-in at
Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
Michael, please note that on your arrival date, your resort will place an
authorization hold on your card for any balance due on the reservation, plus $100 for estimated incidental expenses. This is to cover any charges made back to your room.
If during your stay your spending exceeds the $100 hold, additional incremental holds will automatically be obtained. With that said, if no charges are made back to your room, the authorization on your card will not exceed the current balance due, plus $100.
The final payment is processed for the balance due on your account after you check out. If your reservation is longer than 5 days, your card will be charged the current balance on the resort folio every fifth day of your stay, and again after checkout. You will only be charged for what you actually spent, and any authorization holds in excess of the balance due will be released after your checkout day.
If your balance due upon check-in is zero dollars, then you would only have the $100 authorization hold for estimated incidental expenses placed on your card.
