Hi Lisa,
Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. How fun to be taking an impromptu solo trip to Walt Disney World! I am happy to give you some thoughts on dining for your trip.
There are so many
restaurants at Walt Disney World. I do suggest that if there are some that you know you want to experience, go ahead and make a reservation now if there is one available. If you prefer to be a little more flexible in your planning, I think that there are many restaurants that would have availability, especially for one diner, on a walk-up basis. I would encourage you to walk up to any restaurant that you are interested in - you never know when someone will have made a last-minute cancellation! Some restaurants that I really like that often seem to have availability include Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen at Magic Kingdom, Nine Dragons Restaurant at Epcot, and
Olivia's Cafe at Disney's Old Key West Resort.
Another option is to head to one of the lounges at Walt Disney World. Many of these are attached to restaurants, and they have varying amounts of food offerings. For example,
Tune-In Lounge is adjacent to 50's Primetime Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios and offers a very wide menu. I had a great meal there with one of my Moms Panelist friends during a fun weekend getaway! Other lounge options, which might have slightly less in the way of food offerings but do still offer small plates or appetizers include Nomad Lounge, adjacent to Tiffins at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park, and Tambu Lounge, adjacent to 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.
I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Lisa! Please let us know if you have any further questions.
