Welcome Home, Terri! It's great to see you again in the
Disney Vacation Club corner of planDisney, and I'm as happy as Andy with a new toy to help a fellow Member make some vacation magic. Your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is coming up soon and I hope you're getting excited!
Waitlisting is a great option for DVC Members hoping to book a vacation at a specific resort when there is no availability. You can Waitlist up to two resorts at a time, and choose to have your request active up to 31 days or up to 7 days before your check-in date, depending on your preference.
When I find myself in a situation like this, my strategy is to book something that has full availability, and then create a Waitlist for my preferred resort. I have found that the farther in advance I do this, the higher the likelihood that the stars align for my request!
Terri, if you see availability on the Member website that meets your specifications but you have not received a confirmation that your Waitlist came through, you can try to modify your existing reservation from the Member website to switch to your preferred accommodations. However, I strongly advise calling
Member Services to check your status before making any modifications to your current reservation. The Cast Members there can pull up the specific details of your Membership and advise you on the status of your Waitlist request.
I hope this information helps, and that you can snag the reservation you're hoping for! Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, and please don't hesitate to come see us again if we can help with any other questions to add a little pixie dust to your next trip "Home"!
Stay Magical!
Susan
