Ahoy, Manav! As the weather at my house is having one of those last cold snaps that happen every Spring, my heart longs to be on the
Disney Wish. I am dreaming of sunshine, gentle waves and all the magic of a
Disney Cruise Line vacation for you.
I'm glad you are here at planDisney with this question. You will get a lot of information on the ship about the debarkation process. I'll share my experience to give you a sense of how it all works.
You will have the option to have Disney Cruise Line take your luggage off the ship. For this, your Stateroom Host will leave luggage tags in your stateroom before your last night on board. Add your contact information to the tags for bags you want them to handle, note the character (the tag will have Mickey, Donald, or another beloved pal), and place your suitcases outside your stateroom door the last evening. You will pick these up in the cruise terminal in the morning after saying "See 'ya real soon" to Captains Mickey and Minnie.
You can also carry luggage off the ship yourself in the morning. If you are doing an "Express Walk-Off" to hurry to a flight or another destination, this may be the best option.
Once the ship has cleared US Customs, Disney Cruise Line will call "Express Walk-Off" first. Guests who have all of their belongings will be allowed off the ship. Other groups will be called when the checked luggage is ready, announced by the character on the luggage tag. In the terminal, you will see signs with images of the luggage tags to help you find your bags.
When you have all your possessions, you will go through US Customs. They will ask to see the
passports or proof of citizenship of each person in your traveling party, the same travel documents shown to board the ship. Once you are cleared for re-entry, you can leave the terminal and head to your transportation that will carry your next destination.
Manav, I hope this answers your questions. If we can help with any other information or insights, please come see us again at
planDisney.
