I’m so worried about the weather, I see thunderstorms are predicted every day. Are they normally quick showers or all day soakers? Are the rides open when it is raining?

Hi Valerie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Your trip is in just a few days and I know you must be super excited. You will be arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort in no time at all!

In my experience, the rain in Florida is pretty unpredictable! Typically, my family has experienced quick afternoon rain showers, but lately there have been some consistently rainy days. The good news is that this doesn't cause much to change when you are enjoying the theme parks. Except for closures due to lightning in the area or heavy rain with the outdoor attractions, you will still be able to enjoy pretty much everything in the rain! Most attractions are indoors and that helps a lot.

I suggest grabbing some ponchos for your entire party - either prior to your trip or by purchasing them when you arrive for your vacation. We take ponchos with us on every trip, just in case, and continue experiencing the fun during our time at the Walt Disney World Resort on the rainy days!

I hope this helps with your upcoming stay, Valerie! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have.
