Im worried about the 18% tips and taxes for a family of 6 for each 7 days dinnig plan. Thats going to up our budget aroun $300 more dollars? They never explain thay?

    Hi Martha,

I agree, the 18% gratuity can add up to be a considerable additional expense. With our large family, we have always had the automatic amount added. I've found that it saves me from having to do the math after each meal, since 18% is considered the customary amount to tip your server when you dine out. I'm sorry that the Cast Member that you spoke with on the phone didn't explain that the gratuity is not included with the Disney Dining Plan. You'll find more information about it here. While it is automatically added for large parties, it is expected from everyone.

We travel on a budget ourselves and always with at least 6 people, so I understand how the tips can add up. You may want to look over your itinerary and cancel a few Table Service meals if necessary to be able to match your budget (we've done that before). Tipping isn't expected or allowed at Quick Service locations, so you may find that works out better for you.

    Have a wonderful vacation,
