Hi Tammi,
Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel for assistance in planning your Walt Disney World vacation! I'm not sure how old your son is, but I am assuming that you will not want to leave him unattended in the event that he chooses not to ride. Unfortunately, Cast Member's are not permitted to take responsibility for watching him while you are on the ride. That being said, I do have some great news for you! Your family will qualify for
Disney's Rider Switch Service. As defined by Disney: "If Guests in your party can’t or don’t want to board an attraction, you don’t have to miss out! If a child does not meet the height requirement or a Guest does not wish to board a particular attraction, no problem! With Rider Switch, one adult can wait with the non-rider (or riders) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. When the other adult returns, they can supervise the non-riding Guests, and the waiting adult can board the attraction without having to wait in the regular line again!"
You'll want to note that Rider Switch is not available on all attractions. However, the majority of the most popular attractions
do offer it. Click on the link which I provided above and you will find a list of attractions which offer Rider Switch. Additionally, you will find specific instructions on how to use this awesome feature.
Rider Switch is a wonderful way of ensuring that everyone in your party who wants to ride an attraction can do so.
Wishing you magical memories,
Kaylene
