Hey Howdy Hey Sheila and welcome back to planDisney!
I bet you are getting so excited for your next trip to Walt Disney World Resort and I hope you will be staying at
Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Such a beautiful and scenic resort, it is hard to believe you are so close to Magic Kingdom, yet feel so far removed. One of the best perks to the resorts around Magic Kingdom are the options for transportation. Between the boats and the monorail, they are attractions outside of the parks that my kids love to ride for the novelty of. The scenes as well while on the boat around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon are breathtaking. I love taking the boats in the early morning and later at night, the same route but totally different feels and experiences to them! Ok, let's talk about when to expect these boats to be operational each morning.
Each morning, Disney
Resort Transportation starts running 45 minutes prior to the park opening. The thing to keep in mind is the special opening times for the parks. For your trip coming up in March, Disney still has the perk of
Early Theme Park Entry for Hotel Guests in which Guests staying at a Disney Collection Resort hotel can get in the parks 30 minutes prior to park opening. So, if the park opens at 9:00 a.m. the Early Theme Park Entry will move this to 8:30 a.m., then the boats should start operation around 7:45 a.m. Keep track of the
Park Hours as well, as these may continue to change slightly as you get closer to your travel dates and this may impact your availability to catch a water taxi.
Good luck with your final preparations for your next trip. I hope you might get to enjoy a stop at all the other waterfront locations around Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. A Dole Whip from the Polynesian, cake pop from the Grand Floridian and a coffee while sitting in the Contempo Cafe at the Contemporary Resort watching the monorail go by are some great ways to spend an afternoon!
Happy planning,
Nick
