Hi Kerstin:
Character dining is a must do for my family every trip. If you plan to enjoy a character dining experience at a restaurant
inside of one of the parks, such as Cinderella's Royal Table or The Crystal Palace, then you will need a park ticket to enter the park to enjoy the dining experience. Since you are planning to hit the parks the day after your character dining experience, then I would plan a meal at one of the character dining restaurants
outside of the parks where you won't need to activate your park ticket.
My recommendation is to try
Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. Every vacation, my boys insist on eating at Chef Mickey's - for breakfast, dinner, or both. The energy at Chef Mickey's is incredible. My boys not only enjoy the huge buffet, but their smiles shine when Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Pluto, and Minnie stop by the table to pose for pictures and sign autographs. Another option is
Cape May Cafe, a joyous and fun beach-themed breakfast usually featuring Goofy, Minnie, and Donald. We even had a surprise visit from Goofy's seldom-seen son Max at our last meal at Cape May Café.
Enjoy your vacation.
