I'm wondering what your opinions are on the Fantasmic! dinner package. Do you feel that it is worth it? We are not crazy about using a table service credit at any of those restaurants and it doesn't seem like the reserved seating area has the best views.

    Hi Paul,

Our family does think that the Fantasmic! dining package is a great option.  You're absolutely right about the seating - it's not the best view, but it is a good view.  Certainly, guests who are first in the theater will get the best seating.  However, those guests sometimes wait a minimum of 90 minutes for premium seating.  At least that has been my experience.

If you've been to Hollywood Studios several times, or if you are with a group of people who don't mind standing in line, then I absolutely recommend forgoing the dining package.  It's not needed.

If you are traveling with smaller children who may be tired at the end of the evening, the dining package is great!  It does cut down on your wait time.  You definitely will get better seats that guests who walk in at the same time as you without the plan.  Brown Derby is a great restaurant, but it is a signature location.  If you don't want to use two dining credits, Mama Melrose's is my second choice.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
