Hello! I'm wondering how many EV charging stations there are at the various parking areas and what the costs are to charge. I would assume it is first come first serve, but is there anything else I should know or expect when parking my EV at the parks?

Well hello, Anthony! Welcome to planDisney. I appreciate you reaching out with your electric vehicle charging question.

You'll be happy to know that Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures, as well as the Toy Story Parking Lot, are all equipped with ChargePoint charging ports. If you are going to be a hotel Guest you can also find charging stations at the Fantasy self-parking lot of the Disneyland Hotel and on the ground floor of the Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel self-parking structure. If you will be staying at The Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, please ask a valet attendant about charging port availability.

In order to use a port, you will need to have a ChargePoint card to scan. I recommend downloading the ChargePoint app and setting up an account so you will be ready when you arrive. If you are going to be parking in one of the three main theme park parking areas, please let a Cast Member know when you get to the booth to purchase your parking. A blue piece of paper will be placed under your windshield to identify you need a charging port and you will be directed to that area. Current charging rates are located in the ChargePoint app.

I took a look at the ChargePoint app and searched Disneyland Resort. I was able to see that it looks like Toy Story Parking Lot may have the most ports, so I recommend heading there if it's a busy day as the charging ports are first come, first served.

Now that we have your plans covered for charging your vehicle I think I should mention my favorite place for a recharge in the parks. I love taking a midday break at Lamplight Lounge in Disney California Adventure Park. It's a fun place to can grab some delicious bites and catch the best views of Pixar Pier. I prefer grabbing a spot on the walk-up list on the Disneyland app the day I'm in the parks. In fact, I just did this yesterday with some of my planDisney family and we really enjoyed the Pork Belly Bánh Mì Brussels Sprouts.

Thanks again for stopping by planDisney, Anthony. Please come back and visit us again if you have any other questions for us.

All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
